BTDT Moms- What is done to prevent infection?
I was just wondering if anyone knew what is done to prevent infection after a vaginal delivery or a c-section? Do they give you antibiotics? TIA

I had a fever after my c section. I was giving an iv with antibiotics. Hope this helps

i dont think anything unless you have a fever or test postive for HepB

Unless you show signs of a fever or something like that, they will not give you anything but pain meds after delivery.
If you test positive for strep B - they will give those antibiotics, but that's about it.

C-S get 1 dose of IV antibiotics to prevent infections in the OR.
Vaginal deliveries get IV antibiotics only if there are signs of infection.
