I worked with DD up until 36 w. At that point my dr put me out because of blood pressure issues and an insanely long commute on the LIRR and subway. I was so glad because I was so super uncomfortable by then. I ended up having DD at 38w. I know everyone is different though and has different job situations and different pregnancy complications so if you feel good, you might be able to make it until then.

DS1 was due 3/30 and I planned to work until I went into labor.
My boss was horrified by the look of me at that point and told me I couldn't work past 3/20. I planned to go to work that day but ended up feeling off that morning and delivered at 10:24AM that day.

With my second, I was due 11/8 and said I would work til 10/30 b/c I was early with my first. Well, Colin's birthday is 10/30 Again, my boss gave me extra leave to get me out of the office so I had stopped 10/23.

With this one I'm claiming I'm working til 10/6 - and that's when I believe the baby's birthday will be.

FYI - I work in the city so I was commuting 3-3.5 hrs a day roundtrip and putting in 9 hour days. The night before I had my first, I got home from the office at like 11:30PM.

I worked until the day before I delivered. I went into labor 1 week early & called from the hospital to tell work that I would not be coming in the next day!

I initially wanted to work as long as possible. Then I was content with 38 wks. My last day was at 37w2d. I'm an RN working 12.5 hr shifts on my feet and I was just miserable, tired, swollen, waddling, and cranky! Prior to that my doc said "any time after your term (37 wks) you can go out on disability." I stayed the extra 2 days because it was my weekend on and I was put in charge/at the desk (so I wasn't on my feet like crazy).

I worked until a week before my due date. I was fortunate in that any time I took before DS's actual birthdate I could use vacation time for, so it didn't take away from my maternity leave. I'm definitely glad I had that week to relax, do last minute prep and just enjoy some me time.
