Tested again this morning - still positive!
Just wanted to say thank you to all of you - I don't post that much but I am a lurker. I learned sooooo much on these boards, all the things my public high school sex ed left out! You are all very sweet and encouraging and supportive of each other.

Help! Sorry if this is long
Got a BFP today and now I'm freaking out
1. I have long and irregular cycles. I think I O'd on July 19th. Last af was july 3-7. I tested on aug 4th and 10th and they were both negative. I have no symptoms
2. Since I had the negative tests - I thought there was no way - and I have been drinking - kind of a lot as I had a bach party aug 5-6 and we went out last weekend. I also had a dental exam yesterday with xrays
3. I couldn't get an appt to my doc until Sep 3rd - that's 2 more weeks!
Obviosly no more drinking - tough as I have the wedding this weekend. I have been taking prenatals.
Do you think I harmed my baby? Any guess as to why the other tests were neg?
Is it ok to wait 2 weeks to see a doc?

Most doctors don't want to see you until you're about 8 weeks pregnant (could from the first day of your last period). As for the alochol, I wouldn't worry, I know many, MANY women who drank a lot just before their BFP. Once you get the BFP, stop drinking and make sure you adjust your diet acccordingly.

You don't share a blood supply with the baby until 6 weeks, so the drinking isn't an issue yet.
Xrays aren't recommended but you're not the first or last to get xrays before knowing she is pregnant. My BFF had 3 chest/abdominal xrays before she realized she was pregnant! Her baby is now 1.5 and totally healthy!

Your about 6 weeks along now according to your last menstrual cycle. Drinking is not going to effect the pregnancy . The xray is probably fine too. Like the pp said some people just dont know they are pregnant.

Dont freak out. I drank right up unitl my BFP. And xrays are a no-no generally but in an emergency you can get them so I wouldnt worry and jsut don't have anymore.
I don't think you O'd on July 19th if you had negative tests on the 4th and 10. So when you go to the Dr dont be surprised if you are coutnign from the day of your LMP and the Dr says you are not that far along....becasue you have long cycles you probably didint O until much later than you thought.
