What a day! Update below
First, my breastpump breaks. Usually my boss is here adn my mom is watching Jordana so I coudl just go to her to feed her. But today (a) my boss is here and (b) I have to go to White Plains. I then end up running to my sister's where Jordana is to feed her because I am going to explode- wiping me out, getting me even sweatier and hotter, and I still have to run back to work because my boss is here and so is my pump which needs to be repaired TOMORROW!!
Second, Jordana starts daycare tomorrow and I need to go to set up her crib. I am so sad that she is going to daycare. It has been so nice having my mom watch her. I see her at least twice a week during the day. I don't think anyone in daycare will bring her to me And they asked me to bring her a bathingsuit because there is a little pool (like a backyard pool that you fill up with a hose) they put the little ones in. I haven't even put her in water yet. It is going to be so cute.

Re: What a day!
It is all so much on some days.
You might want to get a backup handpump for days like this!!

Re: What a day!
I've learned the hard way to keep a back-up handpump with me at all times. I know how frustrating is!

It will take time - give yourself some time to adjust to the new arrangements.

Re: What a day!
I just started Katie is daycare after having my Mom here for 3 wks watching her. It is a little hard but she does really well at daycare and she just LOVES to look at all the new people and new things. Plus all the little kids (the 1 yrs olds in her room) just love to come pet baby Katie's feet LOL. Dont worry, your baby will do great - and daycare is so huge in solcialization...it will be great for her and you. The first couple of days are hardest...just do a quick goodbye, the longer you drag it out the worse you feel.
I'm sorry about your pump! Can you go buy a manual/inexpensive one just to get through the next day?

Re: What a day!- Update
First off, thanks for all the
I do have a manual pump, but it works so slow (or I don't know how to use it), that it is pretty much useless.
Yesterday was Jordana's first day of dayycare. I cried when I left her, but she was fine. I picked her up 3 hours later and she was sleeping. I hung around and she woke up and was her usual smiley self. We then went to get the pump fixed which was so much easier than I expected. I went to the upper breast side (which is only 1 stop on the express train away from work) and they fixed it immediately. Then we went to Great Neck with my sister and neice and hung out. I stocked up on a bunch of my neice's stuff that she outgrew and I got to play with Jordana all day long!!
In the end, it was a good day. I even got some video of her laughing in the evening.
Today I dropped her off adn she cried a little when I left, but they distracted and she started to smile. I know she will be OK.
Also, I found out my sister's best friend (who I love) will be working a few hours a week at the daycare. She is a physical therapist and one of her patients works there, so I have a spy who can check in on her.

I'm glad you had a better day!!
Oh, one quick question. Where exactly is the upper breast side located?

Re: What a day! Update below
Its located on 71st between Broadway and West End. I LOVE that place! I was afraid to go in because i was told they were crazy and rude. However, every time I have gone there they have been kind and considerate. You can breastfeed there, and even weigh the baby before and after the feeding to see how many ounces they get. They also take their time fitting you for bras so you are comfortable.
