Is this my expense or my neighbor?

My neighbor has a tree that has a very long branch that has fallen over the fence into my yard. I don't like it there and want to get it trimmed back. Is my neighbor responsible for this expense or am I?

I think anything that grows over into your yard is your responsibility. My sister once paid 2 grand to trim back the neighbors overgrown trees that had these crazy little balls that would cause havac in her yard.

your responsibility. if the entire tree fell onto your yard you would be responsible to remove it not your neighbor even if the trunk is in their yard.

I feel your pain. My neighbor behind me AND my neighbor next to me both have trees that hang into my yard.

Last year, we paid $500 to have them cut up the perimeter of our yard. This year we didn't and our pool is covered in leaves. Its happening again next year for sure!!!!!!

Have you brought it up with your neighbor?

Hopefully they will be nice about it if you do and just trim it for you or pay someone to do it.

We have a large tree in our yard, and a branch falls over into our neighbor's property.

Every so often DH will climb up onto her roof and cut it down.

I think when we moved in she initially brought it up though.

If you don't say anything though you will never know.
