so we're all at my BIL's last night and my SIL has the baby. My 7 yr old niece asks her if she can hold the baby ... SIL never even once asked me or looked my way, just said "Sure honey, have a seat" then proceeded to let my 4 week old DS look like a bobblehead in this 7 yr olds lap!!!  SIL knows I don't want many people holding him (only mom does it right  ) and this is the 2nd time she's done it!  what's wrong w/ people??
Also yesterday, a friend of ours was holding him and offered him to my 13 yr old step son, whom I don't trust at all to touch him!
What's w/ people and handing off kids that aren't theirs????!!!!!!!!!!
I don't mind adults (wll, certain ones at least ... like my mom, best friend and god mother ONLY!!!!) to hold him but come on people! he's not yours to offer out!!!

People just don't think sometimes. They have no right to make those decisions without consulting you.

This would bother me too..
My MIL does this all the time.... if someone from her family asks to hold Ryan (regardless of what age) she jumps in and says yes- before I even have the chance to answer...
I so badly wanna say Hello- she asked me!!!!
Next time- I would say to the child- "Ya know what- Ill hold DS, and you could play with him"- that'll get your point to your sil real fast!

That happened once to me too...and I was like "hum, why is someone handing my little baby to another child. she is not a doll"

people are just rude.. family or not it is your child and realy they were lucky the baby at 4 week old was out at all.. look from a far.. geeze...
