Norwegian Cruise Line
DH and I are looking into two Norwegian cruises in April. We would be going with other couples.
Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance

Re: Norwegian Cruise Line
I've been on 2 NCL cruises-is there anything specifically you're looking to find out?
I like their Freestyle Dining options. Although I usually cruise and sit at large tables (w/strangers) and actually enjoy meeting new people; it was nice to have private tables and not have to make small talk if we ended up at a table with people with different interest etc.
Only downside; was that we did find several nights where we had to wait to be seated and it was reminiscent of being at the cheesecake factory or Red Lobster with all the families sitting outside the dining room waiting for a table!
But I thought the food was good. Drinks were REALLY good; and the entertainment just about the same as any other cruise line. I did find the room to be a little tight; but now that I look back no different than my inside cabin on Carnival. (Disney had the biggest room by far for an inside) I went on NCL for a week long Hawaii cruise and really enjoyed the classes they offered (lei making; palm leaf; hula etc).
Anything else you’re looking to find out about?

Re: Norwegian Cruise Line
We went on NCL in 2008. It was nice but I felt like they did not have enough food. I enjoy a small snack in the middle of the day and later at night. They have only one restaurant open at night and it is small and crowded so we would usually have to get room service.

Went on NCL two years ago in April to Bermuda. Are you leaving from NY? If so, be prepared bc it is still chilly in April. We had a great time anyway. Love the dining options. Just be sure to make reservations early in advance.

Yes, we would be leaving from NY in April. The Bermuda cruise was one of our options. What did you think?

Re: Norwegian Cruise Line
I highly recommend NCL. I can't say I had any complaints about the cruiseline itself. The April weather wasn't that great...very cloudy/grey pretty much the whole time, both at sea and in Bermuda. So if you're looking for hot tropical weather, I wouldn't cruise from NY to Bermuda in April. However, if you haven't been there already, Bemuda is awesome. Beautiful, clean, safe but very expensive.

Re: Norwegian Cruise Line
Ive been on 3. East carribean, West caribbean and bermuda. We didnt love bermuda...thats just us. We loved eastern. Depends on what you are in to. Most importantly, I highly recommend that you search by newer ships. Def changed the experience. We did the jewel last summer and it was much more impressive then the dawn. Now they even have the epic. I like the dine whenever option.

We are looking into the Jewel and the Gem. The biggest plus is the Freestyle dining option.
