Wallpaper????
In my "old days" wallpaper was "it". I mean, painting walls was cheap and looking cheap. If you had any decorative fashion, you had to wallpaper you entire house.
That theory is long gone. Wallpaper was outcasted as "outdated".
Yet, I see many people who decorate again with wallpaper.
As I am staging my house to put on the market, should I stick to paint only with neutrals. Is wallpaper still "too taste specific"?

Re: Wallpaper????
I feel like wallpaper is definitely "in" and has been for a few years.
As far as staging your house goes, I wouldn't waste any time or money on putting it up. I would stick to painting it in neutral colors.

ITA. The sellers painted our new home the same neutral color in every room. we did not realize until we moved into the house and started repainting the walls (which we would have done anyway). You might want to do that vs. buying a bunch of different colors (and it might be cheaper b/c you will have less left over)

Re: Wallpaper????
Def NO wallpaper for staging. It's too taste specific and most people will just see it as work to then remove it. No way. Just a neutral safe soothing color in rooms, that's all.

Re: Wallpaper????
Paint is better and a cheaper way to nicely fix up a house. Wallpaper is def taste specific.
Wallpaper is def back in style. My favorite design site is Decorpad and they have 100's of beautiful ideas with wallpaper.
A major reason wallpaper was not used....wasnt b/c it was outdated. The print someone chose in their house from several years ago may of been outdated. A big reason was b/c it was too expensive and it was much more affordable to just change the paint color. It would cost 700-2000+ to buy wallpaper for a decent size room and that does not include installation. Where painting would cost $100 and can easily be done by any individual. My dad use to sell it in his business but it got too expensive for most people in our area. ( we grew up in Pa) I'm lucky bc I got my wallpaper at cost and my Dad hung it up.

Re: Wallpaper????
I would paint neutral. I wouldn't even buy an expensive paint. Like I want to use BM aura bathroom paint in our bathrooms but if I was staging I would use eggshell paint ben paint. (I use BM since there's a store in walking distance to my house.)
