Re: For those looking in Levittown - Really nice house

I have to admit I am not a fan of this house.

I hate the floors throughout the first floor. The marble looks very dated to me. I wouldn't call it a plus.

I don't know why they re-did the kitchen without at least putting a more modern looking tile down there.

Plus the uptairs isn't expanded/dormered and they converted the garage to living space, so it's very small with no garage or basement. You are paying a high price for updates that I wouldn't consider exactly modern.

I'd rather buy a beater in Levittown for 230-270k and spend the extra 50k or so myself and update it the way i want. I would try to get something around 220-230 if I could.

I would buy MLS 2420872 listed at 249k before buying this one. Or MLS 2409902. Or MLS 2389703.

A new kitchen and two new baths can easily be done for under 50k. You can get new kitchen cabinets from Dynamic (vendor here) for under 12k for a Levitt. Bathrooms are never more than 10k each. Spend the remainding 18k on other cosmetic stuff.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a price drop to 349k on this. And 329k isn't out of the question either.

I agree with you on the aethetics of the house not being very nice. And the bathrooms arent to my taste at all (and my taste is extremely modern). I completely agree with your comment about buying a cheaper house and renovating to suit your own standards. (We did this).

I don't necessarily agree with your estimates for the renovations you mentioned. DH and I just renovated the bathrooms in our new house and unfortunately for my wallet they were not at all close to under 10k.

I think the renovations are nice overall. Some of the reno might not have been my exact taste, but it's clean and new. It'd be a nice house for a first-time buyer that would be overwhelmed with the idea of overhauling some of the houses you posted.

To the OP: thanks for posting!

The outside of this house looks kinda blah.
Inside is OK.

I saw a house in Plainview in person by the same contractor... it was amazing, beautiful workmanship but the master was small for the $$.

MLS 2386831

I think you have to like this type of style. I'm not a "modern" person in taste so its right up my alley.

Re: For those looking in Levittown - Really nice house

Not looking in Levittown but I love looking at houses for ideas. I actually like the "style" in some parts of that house and dont like it in some parts as well..

I dont like the outside of the house at all and I dont like having a kitchen in the front of a house JMO. But I agree with the OP that i think for THAT price its a good deal for someone. But then again I dont know that area well or what the houses go for but for someone that might be looking in that price range I think its a good option. Not all people look to completely redo a house so this could be a good option. yes it is small...very small BUT for that price and the fact that its done might persuade some people.

I think it's a great house. Updated! Everybody does not want to deal with a gut job house.

The outside need sprucing up, some landscaping work. But for that price (and maybe $10-$20K less after negocation) this is a really good house.

This house is a flip. I tend not to trust the workmanship in a flip because even though it might look nice many times it is not done to quality because they do not want to put too much time and money into it.

Ohh!!! I hate flips myself. I always wonder what they try to hide. I prefer a "raw", you know you have to remodel type of house.

Re: For those looking in Levittown - Really nice house

I know its a flip and I know its not everyone's taste - but some people are looking for a finished house and the price isn't bad - that's why I posted it.

I myself would buy an original house and fix it up to my taste.

I think it's a great looking house compared to some of the houses offered on the market.

Not everybody wants to handle remodels.

Some people wants everything updated for them.

This is an "affordable" house given the kitchen, baths are all done/remodeled.
