what is an ovulation shot????
I havnt gotten my period in a few months and do not know when im ovulating if at all....i read about an ovulation shot,
what is it and what does it do?????

an ovulation shot is used during IVF and IUI to force ovulation....the persons body is basically ready for ovualtion and the shot just makes it happen at a specific time.
If you have gotten you r period you would use soemthing else to bring it on....can't remember the name of the drug.

I just started ovulation monitoring with an RE since I also don't know when I am Oing and they gave me an rx for the ovulation shot to keep in my fridge until they give me the green light to use it...

I get HCG shots that make me ovulate because I don't ovulate on my own when I should. My cycles were sometimes over 3 months  Right after the shot then I ovulate the next day.

an ovulation shot is usually ovidrel or novarel (HCG) or in some cases lupron (agonist) depending on the protocol. you ovulate ~36 hours after the shot. this is only used with an RE during an ovulation induction or IVF cycle.
if you havent gotten AF for months and you are not pregnant or nursing, you most likely aren't ovulating. you should see a doctor who will likely prescribe provera to start a new cycle and then you can see if you will ovulate the next cycle. if not then you should see an RE and get diagnosed and start meds if you want to TTC. good luck!

this! u need to go on provera not a trigger shot
