I'm having a Hysterscopy done

Nervous as Hell as what to suspect! I'm having a Hysterscopy done. I have never had anything like this done before. Can someone tell me what's it like? My mother was supposed to go with me but I thought if something was wrong or if there is a problem I'm gonna want DH there. Have a case of nerves here!!!! Someone Calm me down!!!!!

They did one with my D&C... did they tell you if youre going under anesthesia or not?

They told me I'm not. They told me to take IB Profen before I come. Is that wrong? Should I be given a sedative? So nervous. Please tell me about your experience.

I've had something similar done and the worst part is when they dilate you.
I didnt take anything for it so I hope the ibuprophen will take some of the pain away.
I have had two colposcopy sessions (biopsy) and another to look into the uterus. The "look" one really hurt me.

i had a hysteroscopy done without anesthesia and it was fine. i cant even believe that some people go under for that - it seems like such a waste!! but i guess the one i had (Dr. B) was with a much smaller camera than what they normally do under anesthesia.

anyway it honestly didn't bother me at all. it felt like a period cramp for about 20 seconds and thats it. the entire procedure took less than 5 minutes. i actually want to have another one done now to see the damage that was done from my c-section.

I had some discomfort durng....pain and bloating...rested after and felt ok...took a tylenol and was fine....youll be AOK

I had one in November and it was really a relatively simple procedure. I remember it felt VERY crampy while it was being done.... but after those 2 or 3 minutes were up it was fine I'm having another one done on Thursday, actually.

I had pain all throughout the procedure and afterwards as well. It is a cramping that ranges from painful to mild depending on your pain tolerance. I def recommend taking some pain killers beforehand.

Thank You Ladies!!!! I'm having it done next Thursday morning at 10:30am. DH is going to go with me. I feel so secure knowing he's there. I have my pain releiver all ready! Probablly make a big deal out of nothing but still so nervous!!!!!! I'll be happy once it's over!!

Did you ladies get the results that day you had it done?

I had it a few years ago and was under anesthesia for it bc I also had a laparoscopy procedure with it to remove scar tissue. You can def get the results immediately for it nowadays being that everything is digital. I got my pictures immediately when I woke up in recovery. Good luck! I hear its uncomfortable but not overly painful.

I can't wait to have this test done so it can be over and done with. I was supposed to have it done Tuesday but since my cycle is so heavy they can't do it at that time. I'm anxious to get the results and moving forward! DH is supportive and with me all the way! We are going to try more frequently as we did not in the past and this is why I haven't gotten my BFP. I am hoping for good news!!! I am hoping I won't have to be on Provera next month to kick start m period!!! I can't wait to be pregnant! I just have a feeling it's coming soon!!!!!

I had cramping afterwards and bled a little. After I left the hospital, about 45 mins after the procedure we went food shopping. I bled for a couple of days, and motrin helped. Good luck!!!
