personal item question

Do you think a large tote bag counts as a 'personal item'? I'm allowed a free personal item but have to pay for carry on luggage for a specific airline i'm flying soon and just wanted to know thoughts. Thanks!

Re: personal item question

Will it fit completely under the seat? You can probably get the dimentions from the airlines website.

I believe that's the criteria Spirit uses for their carry-on policy.

ITA with the "fits under the seat" guideline. I've carried a full backpack for my personal item, and have never had a problem.

Re: personal item question

Yes it does, when I travel I always carry my large tote which doubles as my purse and then a small rolling bag which counts as carry on luggage.

Here is a link to what I use:

Yes - as long as it fits under the seat, you won't be charged for it on Spirit.

Re: personal item question

but the destination i'm flying to apparently is going to be hit with a tropical storm so we'll see if i even make it out there! Chat Icon
