Who is over 35/36 and received their nucal results?
Just got the call from my doc's office. Nurse said-- results are normal, but I specifically asked numbers because that's the kind of person I am.
She said the baseline for someone my age (36) is 1 in 150 for Downs. And I forget what she said for Trisonomy..
Anyway, my risk for downs is 1 in 250-- which I guess is definitely better than normal for my age, but compared to my 1 in 10,000 exactly 3 years ago when I was pregnant last time-- that seems SOOOO high of a risk. My risk for Trisonomy is still 1 in 10,000.
Can anyone share their results since I assume age is the factor that is bringing the number down??

Re: Whose over 35/36 and received their nucal results?
I didnt go for my 12 week sono yet. But I am 36 years old and my doctor told me that someone my age the ratio is about 1 in 250. I had my dd at 34 and my ratio was like 1 in 10000. I couldnt believe that just a couple of years can bring down the numbers so much. I dont think you should be concerned.

I'm confused now because I thought the baeline DS risk for someone age 36 was closer to 1:250? 1:150 sounds like it would be the baseline for someone older than 36... maybe talk to your doctor at your next visit, but if your dr's office isn't concerned I wouldn't worry about it too much.

yes, once over the age of 35 the risks increase drastically according to my doc. I don't know the exact numbers, but I was told my nuchal results were "within normal limits" I am 36....now I am curious about the numbers.....

Re: Who is over 35/36 and received their nucal results?
I went for my NT scan 2 days before my 43rd birthday. When we met with the Genetic Counsellor we were told that the baseline risk factor for my age was 1/46.
With the blood work and nuchal fold factored in my risk for downs was 1/980 and for trisomys it was 1/1,700.

Re: Who is over 35/36 and received their nucal results?
When I first went to my midwife I asked her about increased risk if DS, etc. because of my age (35 now, 36 when I give birth). She told me that the latest studies have shown the higher risk shift from after 35 to after 40.
ETA: I didn't answer your question. My overall numbers were 1 in 63,000. I didn't ask for the breakdown.

I am 38 and baby is due 3 days before my 39th bday. I had a scan, Dr told me the results were within the normal limits, I did not ask for further info. Sorry guess that did not help.

I'm 36 (was 35 when I did the test) and I can't remember the numbers but she basically said that I had the results of a 21 year old.
Those tests drive you crazy, right?
