Re: For $1,250,000 I expect more than 2 bedrooms
I dont know if it is a mistake.... it seems VERY weird - but I went to the realtors website and it says 6 rooms total - 2 bedrooms. THat would be Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, Family room and 2 bedrooms. Why on earth would they build this with only 2 bedrooms?????

Re: For $1,250,000 I expect more than 2 bedrooms
What if it were a couple without kids and they built the house for themselves without thinking of how it would sell? Would that make sense? They would have their bedroom and a room for guests. Those of us without kids don't really need tons of bedrooms but would like to use that space for other things.
One of the problems I have been finding while househunting is that the houses with an open feel often have too many bedrooms for us. Not that I have 1.2M for a house, but it would not be a bad house for us.

well it's on 2 acres and walking distance to the water. that kitchen is unreal! think about all the possibilities when you have 2 acres near the water!!

I think the third bedroom is the home office, and it has a full basement. Maybe that can be more space for more BR's? Dunno.

And if you have no children, how many bedrooms would you need?

Re: For $1,250,000 I expect more than 2 bedrooms
i went on a house tour a few years ago in the lloyd harbor and huntongton bay area. i was suprised that several of the homes had only 2-3 bedrooms. they were gorgeous and HUGE homes but seemed odd that there were so few bedrooms. since the home you posted and those that i did see on the tour were realtively new homes, i think the owners built to their needs and wants.

Re: For $1,250,000 I expect more than 2 bedrooms
Beautiful home! I agree, the owners may very well be a couple with no children or an older couple with children out of the home. Oviously these ppl have $$,just look at the details in the home.
My aunt & uncle do not have any children but quite a hefty bank account, years back they built their dream home on the water..guess how many bedrooms? 2 ,just like these people. They did though include a huge family room, the size of my entire house and 2 seperate kitchens (his and hers) and ENTIRE floor as a game room dedicated to his two passions, poker and hunting and wrap around balconies and french doors out the wazoo! Gorgeous villa,ONLY 2 bedrooms. We as a family fully supported their need to indulge themselves and not cater to "potential" guests or resale.

Re: For $1,250,000 I expect more than 2 bedrooms
I only have 2 bedrooms-I own a two bedroom HOUSE but I paid alot less for it than they are asking... One baby, two dogs and two bedrooms...
If I could afford it, there appears to be plenty of space to work with upstairs...

Re: For $1,250,000 I expect more than 2 bedrooms
it's near the water- but it's not water front- or water view
I think it's the amount of land you get- 2 acres anyway near the water is alot $$$$
