No hot water
We just moved into our house a month ago and today we have no hot water. We have a tankless hot water heater. I'm wondering if anyone has any troubleshooting tips for me to try before I call a professional? And does anyone have any recommendations for a professional (I'm not even sure who I call? plumber? oil burner guy?)? Thanks!!!

Re: No hot water
Did your boiler turn off for some reason? Like if it's oil, maybe you ran out of oil, or maybe someone accidentally flipped off the emergency switch on the wall.

Re: No hot water
my mom had the tankless hot water heater and 2 times when i was living there i had come home from work at midnight and had to hot water.
i turned the unit off for a few minutes and when i turned it on it worked. ..... both times.
if not, i would say you have to call a plumber

Re: No hot water
We just moved recently and experienced the same problem - DH would press the red reset button to start the boiler, which would then create hot water. But, he pressed it one too many times and we saw smoke, which is when we called in an oil company. Turns out that there was an oil clog that they took care of and we've been fine ever since. Good luck!

Re: No hot water
Thanks all. I don't think the boiler is coming on so I guess we'll try the reset button first and see if that works. Sounds like it might be a good idea to call the oil company also just to check it out. Ugh, how frustrating!
