what would you do? hot water problem...
For some reason our super doesn't like us. I don't know why. We've only been here for 4 weeks and haven't done anything wrong and have been nice.
We're at the point now where we've taken cold showers for the past week. I am leaving a note for him tomorrow and copying it to the building manager. My DH is ****** and wants to just say "The water is STILL cold. You NEED to do something about it. We have a lawyer on retainer."
I think we should still play nice and send the nice letter first and then follow up with nasty. Here's what I have drafted.... please help. What would you do?? thanks!
Dear H,
I just wanted to follow up regarding our conversation by the elevator the other day. The water in our shower has alternated from being lukewarm at best to ice cold for the past week. I know you mentioned that it could be the body on the shower controlling the temperature, however that cannot be the case because there have been occasions where we have taken hot or very warm showers in the weeks that we have lived here. However, ever since the water was shut off last week for that day we have not had HOT water in our shower. It does not matter the time of day or night that we try to shower. I thought it might be because of heavy traffic in the morning, but it is midnight right now and I just got out of an ice cold shower that was absolutely miserable!!
At the board meeting Mr. R indicated that he was not aware of the extent of people’s issues with the hot water so I am going to follow up with him and send him a copy of this letter so both you and he can ensure that the necessary steps are taken to remedy this problem immediately.
We understand that this type of problem will occasionally occur in an apartment building, however this is unreasonable and impacting the quality of our life. I have not taken a hot shower in at least a week and am at the limit of my patience. I know that the building had a problem but I was under the impression that it was fixed. Has anyone else on the 28 line complained yet?
What can you do about this?
Thank you,
Jennifer V
