Replacing iron staircase railing with a wooden one
Is it possible to replace the iron railing and spindles with a beautiful wooden one? Has anyone done this? What is the cost?

we did this. cost depends on size of staircase.

yes, we did it - there are before and after pics in my house album. i'm not sure how much it cost... it was lumped in with other work we had done. but i do know that it varies depending on the type and style of wood that you want.

My DH did this in my son's house. I don't remember how much it cost, but it was not too expensive. It really looks nice with the new wood railings.
