cleaning lady helping herself to snacks
Our cleaning lady likes to help herself to snacks we have lying around. Not anything thats in the cabinets or fridge, but if i have a container of brownies or cookies on the counter, i'll always notice one or two missing. Same thing with halloween candy or nuts.
I don't really mind, but i do find it funny that she (or her other ladies since i know there's usually 3 or 4 of them) think its ok to just take them!
anyone else's cleaning lady do this?
as i said, its really not a big deal, more of a funny thing to us.

Re: cleaning lady helping herself to snacks
My parents have had the same cleaning lady for 20 yrs and she never takes any food unless it is offered. I don't think it would bother me per se but it is a little odd. Though as a snacker myself I would probably sneak a cookie or two so I guess I am a hypocrite

I wonder if they think you leave them out for them to snack on? They probably think you are really nice to leave them some snacks!
I don't think I would mind but I don't have a cleaning person so I can't say for sure.

I was thinking the same thing.
Like a pp, I wouldn't care unless it was the last brownie

Re: cleaning lady helping herself to snacks
Since it wasn't offered and she didn't ask I do think it is a bit bold for her to take.
If it bothers you, make a fresh batch of brownies or cookies the night before she comes and leave a note next to them that reads, "{insert name} Please do not eat the brownies/cookies. We are bringing them to a party that we are attending tonight." Maybe then she will take a hint and not help herself in the future.
Another option is to leave a note reading, "{insert name} Feel free to help yourself to a brownie/cookie." Although this won't stop her in the future at least she will know that you are aware that she has been helping herself to the snacks.

Wouldn't bother me a bit. I don't see the big deal.
Unless of course she was helping herself to other things in my house - like $$, jewelery, clothes etc.
There are bigger things to be concerned about in life IMO.

Ours ate the last cookie on a plate. It didn't bother me, since I was at work, but DH came down thinking about the last cookie!
Of course, being that it was out on a plate, it definitely seems like it could be out to offer. At least she cleaned the plate after!

Re: cleaning lady helping herself to snacks
On one hand I feel like, maybe she's hungry and there is no one around to ask if she could have a bite to eat...so I kind of understand.
But on the other hand, I dont like the idea of anyone being bold enough to just take without asking. Makes me kind of wonder what else she's helping herself to without your knowledge It would probably irk me.

Re: cleaning lady helping herself to snacks
umm that would annoy me
my guy never takes ANYTHING.
Now would I offer to him if he were there? probably. But to take without asking? And be obvious enough that you notice? That's not right.
