What to expect at my 1st RE appt?
I'm really scared! Has anyone used Dr. Matthew Cohen? I did a search and it seems that previous girls that used him really liked him. PS - Hi I'm new to this board!

hi and welcome! i dont know that doc..but
a good re should look over all your records and depending on where you are in your cycle ..take bloods or tell you when to get them. sometimes depending on your issue they have your dh do a semen analysis and also a test to check your tubes.

Welcome!! 
Like Prunepie said, you will go over lots of info.. your history... etc.. He may do a sono/blood and will also likely do a semen analysis.
I never had to have my tubes checked.
ETA: You might want to make a list of questions you have when you meet with him. It's easy to get caught up in the moment and forget things when you're actually there to talk!!

At my first RE appt. We first met with a nurse who went over our history (both DH and I went). I believe she did height, weight, blood pressure. Then we met with the dr. and were able to discuss our concerns and ask any questions. He gave us a packet of info. about the different things (drugs, procedures, etc) that we discussed. He also gave us a "checklist" of different things we needed to do in order to get the ball rolling. And he gave us a list of things to discuss as far as what path we wanted to choose.

Dr. Cohen was my 2nd and most favorite RE. I am almost 22 weeks pregnant after IVF. He is very thorough and thought outside of the box for me. I did not do IUI's with him, went straight to IVF, b/c we had just finished a cycle with another doctor. Good Luck!

I would ask him about running the recurrent miscarriage panel. Most doctors only do it after 2 miscarriages…sometimes insurance doesnt cover it so just inquire. But I think it is worth your while to have that done!
