Closing in the Afternoon
We are closing tomorrow at 3:00pm however when we did our final walk through today the seller said its not good to close at 3:00pm because its cutting it close with getting the money, if he doesn't get the $ tomorrow then he cant give us the title and keys...has anyone had any issues closing in the afternoon? he said he might get postponed and now I am getting worried. We are using Wells Fargo.
Thanks!

Re: Closing in the Afternoon
funny thing is I tried to get a morning closing and they said the same thing. We are planning to close on our sale at 1 and then the purchase after that. So I'll be in the same time frame as you. I hope its not the case because I will be homeless with no stuff!
Good luck

Congratulations!!!!
When we closed we met at 1, and it took about 2hrs to sign everything. I'm not sure about getting everything at the bank.

Goodluck!!

Re: Closing in the Afternoon
It shouldn't be a problem. Not sure why the seller is concerned, as the closing is scheduled by the attorneys, in coordination with the bank and the title company. The bank attorney is there to handle the money side of it, and if the bank attorney doesn't see a problem with the closing date and time, then it's not a problem. It's not as if the seller or buyer has any control over the physical disbursement of the checks.
I have never had an issue with afternoon closings -- they happen all the time. No matter what time of day it is, sometimes you have to wait for the money to arrive, which is a pain, but it eventually arrives.
Good luck!
