Metamucil is my friend

I just have to share how happy I am that I started taking Metamucil. I used to have constipation problems a few years ago (before pg) and I used to take it and found it to be great and after battling with almost 2 weeks of rabbit-like-poop I decided to go back.

I know some people may have said that my belly was looking bigger recently because I am 12 weeks pg but I knew deep down it was because I was constipated and needed to "go"

After two days of Metamucil, I feel MUCH better and a little thinner and SO much happier. Before I felt like I was passing boulders and instead it was pebbles.

Sorry if any of this is TMI, I am so happy to have gone easily today and can honestly say this is the first time I smelled my own stuff in two weeks (it was too dry before) and never thought I would be SO happy to smell that stuff.

I have been taking it since the 1st trimester and boy has it helped. I was in so much pain I thought i was going into labor a few times. I told my doc and that is what he said to take. WHAT A RELIEF!!!!! Maybe try switching vitamins also. That was making it worse. I switched and much happier. I now am taking citrical w/DHA. Plus you have to take the metamucil everyday. If it grosses you out to bad try putting a little juice in w/ the water. But yes metamucil has become my friend also!!! LOL

Glad you found something that worked for you !!

(and there really is no such thing as "TMI" On this board, sadly )

I had major problems with constipation in my first trimester and then after changing my diet around a bit and swtiching to a new prenantal, I became much more regular in the 2nd trimester..

Continue to feel good!

I am glad you feel better! I def know that pain! I waasn't stopped up until after I had the baby! go figure!

Have you tried Benefiber? I use it now as a little extra fiber just in case I don't eat enough during the day. I love it! I mix it in everything, coffee, oj, cereal, oatmeal, I even put it in brownies I made. It's tasteless and disolves real easy.

I wanted to help out and suggest Flaxmeal. You can buy it in healthfood stores and sprinkle lots on your cereal, it tastes really good and really helps you to be a regular gal!!!

I use psyllium husk fiber every morning in my tea...its a life saver!

I lived on Fiber Choice pills my entire pregnancy.
