Need your ladies thoughts on this one(long but please read)...
So my DH and I have decided (I think) that we are going to give this baby making thing a try. I have been digging in my heels for the last 3 yrs because of some issues with anxiety attacks and uncertainty about my profession etc. So anyway we had a "Practice run " the other night since AF is due today or tomorrow and immediately after I couldn't sleep and was totally freaked out that I might not be ready, what if somehow I actually got pregnant etc. Is it normal to want a baby so badly but be totally worried that it might actually happen or am I just a nut (its ok if you think that might be the case ehhe). After you started trying were you full steam ahead or still kind of freaked out? Thanks for the advice

I can only speak for myself, but for me I spent so many years trying NOT to get pregnant that it's definitely an adjustment to actually be trying. I've had some anxiety over it but it's gotten better. I'm sure when I do get my BFP I will freak out a little bit. But like any big change, it's an adjustment and I think eventually the anxiety will subside.

I feel sorta like you. We've been married for 5 years and I feel like a big reason why I waited was because of my anxiety. I just worry about every little single thing-what if we run out of money, what if I am a terrible mother, what if DH and my relationship suffers, ect, ect. I have to just realize that a lot of it is irrational fears, and that it is okay to be nervous because it is a big change, but you can't plan everything in life and things happen. I still get nervous but it has gotten better and now I am excited. I hope this doesn't sound terrible, I am just have a terrible anxiety problem. FM if you want to chat! Dh and I just started trying this month!

I know just from my experience, that YES ABSOLUTELY it is totally normal to be full steam ahead and totally freaked out! You are making a person, and it is a beautiful and wonderful, and scary and terrifying thing all at the same time. Trust me - you are definitely NOT alone! Good Luck -

We know we both want a baby and we are ready (as ready as we will ever be). But I know sometimes when I picture coming home from the hospital and having OUR baby i definitely feel like its only a dream and get a little nervous (mostly about work and money). Also, like PP said, i spent so many years trying not to get pregnant its just seems so strange to me. the first time we BD when I stopped BCP I actually almost could not go through with it... I was freaking out cause I never BD's unprotected! I think it all normal (atleast I hope so!)!!!!

At least 10x a day, i question our decision to TTC. At some points, I am soooo for it, and then I get freaked out and scared and decide that we shouldn't try at all. I don't think you're ever 100% ready for such a huge decision. There will always be back and forth IMO.

Oh my god ladies that you for sharing your experiences. I talked with one of my good friends the other day and she didn't help the situation because she said :oh I wasn't nervous after we started trying just very excited and happy. didn't help my anxiety though I know she was just giving me her honest opinion. It's good to know that I am not alone with my crazy feelings and constantly changing mind

Me and DH talk like we are ready, but I know we are both scared. I can't believe one day I will be responsible for a person!
Your nerves are totally 100% normal!

I understand where your coming from. DH and I just started this month and the thought of POAS is actually making me nervous. I hope when the time comes my nerves will go away

THIS. I just got my BFP yesterday and I don't think it is going to set in for a while, or at least until I go to the doctor. The fact that I got pregnant the first month and we were only winging it just freaks me out. I really did not think it was going to happen this fast.

See I think that is kind of what freaks me out. Even though I want to get pregnant the idea of it happening right away is kind of scary too even though I know it can take quite a while or may not even happen at all. I just want to make sure that it isn't abnormal to have second thoughts right after doing the deed hehe. Ahh its so complicated I kind of wish it had just happened by accident so my brain didn't kick in and start obsessing over what ifs etc. I guess i was just hoping to find that "perfect time" but if I keep waiting my eggs will dry up hehe.

I think you are totally normal. I am scared of getting pregnant and not getting pregnant all at the same time.
