We have an LG LFX28978 refrigerator; it has french doors and icemaker is built into the door. Both refrigerator and freezer spaces are HUGE. Best purchase we ever made by far when it comes to appliances!

I have a Maytag dishwasher that I love. It's MDB8959 I spent a lot of time doing research on DW's , reading reviews and comparing on many sites. This one gets really high marks all around.

I will say - whatever you do, do not use Best Buy. Every single person I dealt with had a different version of when I'd get and have my DW installed, do not have their stuff coordinated (sales, delivery, install, customer service) - and no one takes responsibility either. I would never go there again for a pack of batteries let alone a large order of a few major appliances. I ended up cancelling my order & getting it through HD and it was smooth sailing.

If you use Plessers, see if they will waive the delivery & install fee. PC Richards often offers unadvertised discounts too so ask for one.

Re: can you please recommend your kitchen appliances

I HATE my GE Profile appliances. The dishwasher is terrible, you have to wash the dishes before they actually go in the dishwasher (and I'm not talking about just rinsing, you have to scrub them Chat Icon ). It also doesn't have a separate heating element which seems to be the main problem. I have a side by side fridge & it and the freezer don't really hold much, so I'm not crazy about that. The microwave is great, and the stove is just okay.

I would go with Whirlpool. My mom & IL's both have Whirlpool and love them. Whirlpool has the best dishwashers.

Re: can you please recommend your kitchen appliances

I have a Jenn-Aire Dual Fuel slide in range that I just LOVE. The main oven is big.. and the top oven is REALLY roomy. Most double ovens on slide in ranges have a super tiny 2nd oven.. but this one is perfect.. I cook MOST things in the top actually unless I'm roasting something large!

I have a KitchenAid Washer with a stainless tub that I love because it has the hidden controls on the top. It's a great feature if you have (or plan to have) little ones running about.

Your GE Profile dishwasher doesn't have a heating element? Mine does, unless it's something they did away with after my dishwasher was purchased.

I found that Side by side refrigerators/freezers don't hold all that much in general, regardless of manufacturer. I'd get a traditional refrigerator with top or bottom freezer before a side-by-side just from a layout/use of space standpoint.

i have a side by side fridge now and i haaate it. it's an unknown amount of years old... over 20 i think so it's held up well but i cannot fit anything anywhere, i loathe it.
i did some research on consumers website and every single review, people complained about the knobs melting on their ge profile range and it not being covered by warrantyChat Icon

My GE Profile range doesn't have knobs (Induction range). Although I prefer them aesthetically, I didn't want them from a safety standpoint with 3 little ones. My intentions with the induction was long term as well. We haven't remodeled our kitchen, but when we do, we'll most likely relocate our appliances to the basement and I wanted induction for the safety factor (less likely to cause a fire.) My complaint is that the control board isn't backlit.
