temping question?
Hi ~
My Dr. wants me to start temping. He suggested to take it the first thing in the AM before my first urine.
Just curious, is this the time everyone does it?
Also, what am I looking for in the chart? A rise in my basal temp?

Yes, thats how you temp... youre not even supposed to get out of bed...
temping is taking the temperature of your body when its at rest... once you get up you wont be able to get the accurate temperatures

as close to the same time as you can... that and the fact that i never sleep for 4hours straight is why i dont temp

yup, first thing you do when you wake up and you are looking for a shift in your temps. you will have lower temps before you O and then higher temps after you O until AF shows up.
i have been temping for a few months now and i like it! its the only way to confirm that you O'd...well other than having a Dr monitor your cycles for you.

Yep. It doesnt have to be on the dot but close to that same time everyday. Some days I take it +/- 15mins.

yeah see that's what sucked... what I did was always set my alarm for the EARLIEST possible time I'd wake up. Turned out to be 6am. I'd roll over, take my temp, and either get up or go right back to sleep. And don't worry about not falling back asleep. You will. After awhile you just get used to it.

thanks bear!!
the earliest i wake up on the weekday is 5am damn gym!!! other times are 620.
im sure it wont bother me on the weekend. i wake up at 5am but go back to sleep till around 7am. damn stop and shop.lol

I wake up at 8:30am so I just keep my alarm set to go off at 8:30am. On the weekends, I just shut it off, temp, and fall back asleep. My thermometer has memory recall so I can always just turn it on if I forget what the temp was. I keep track on Fertility Friend... all you have to do is plug in your temp and it does the work for you in determining when you O.
