Acne prescriptions??
Hello all.... my face has been a disaster since stopping BCP in January. My doctor recently prescribed me Differin for night time and clindamycin face wipes for the am. He told me to stop the differin when ttc... but the face wipes were okay. I'm just waiting for my crazy cycle to ovulate and we were going to officially start trying. Does anyone have any experience with these prescriptions? I just stopped the differin cause I am nervous it will be lingering in my bloodstream. Am I overreacting ? Should I have stopped it sooner?

Re: Acne prescriptions??
I was on differin but then my dr "upped" me to tazorac with triaz facial wipes at night. BOTH are not good to use while pregnant but he told me as long as I stop using the day of my BFP I'll be fine.

Re: Acne prescriptions??
It might be better to start on a new medication now that is safe to use while pregnant. I use Azelex, have for years, and both my OB and derm have confirmed that it's safe to use while pregnant and nursing. I also used to use Finacea, which is the same thing but not as strong.

Re: Acne prescriptions??
I occasionally use differin and something else (i could check it when i get home if you want) and i checked both on safe fetus.com. The differin is a class C and the other thing is a class B. Your derm might be able to give you soemthing that is a little safer to use while TTC/pregnant. But you can continue using it until you get your BFP.
