Figuring out what's next..maybe seeing an RE?
So a little over a year of no luck and I'm not sure how to proceed. My doctor suggested we start running tests and maybe trying Clomid when I saw him last month. I put it off at the time but now I don't know what to do. Should I take it upon myself to see an RE or stick with my regular dr. for a while?
Can anyone give me any insight about how a dr will most likely proceed? Do they typically spend a month or so testing and figuring out what's up before starting you on meds? I don't feel like I'm 100% ready to accept that I need to do this, but since I'm off for the summer I feel like I should use the time to get things started.
I'm just feeling really unsure of what to do and any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Based on reading that I've done and these boards, I think you're next step should be an RE. They will do thorough testing and tailor a plan to meet your needs. Obgyns are not usually as experienced when it comes to the next step and it's not their specialty. Good luck

whether you stay with your GYN or see an RE tests need to be done. at the very least you should have a HSG done so you will know if your tubs are clear and your DH shold have a Seman Analysis done.
An RE will rpbably do more tests but do not stay with your GYN just because you dont want to lose time to testing.

I agree with the pp. I would make an appt with an RE. An RE can do more for you than your OB/GYN, IMO. I speak from experience. FM me if you have any questions. Good luck!
