FRIIIIIIIIIED CHICKEN!
I was going to add fried chicken to my menu yesterday.. but then got too lazy!!
So now I NEED it today. The boys and I are going to have a nice picnic outside with fried chicken, biscuits and sweet tea. I have an old family recipe that I use - but I wanted to see if any of you have any tips to offer aside from my usual buttermilk recipe.

Re: FRIIIIIIIIIED CHICKEN!
I just saw Katie Lee (Joel)'s recipe for fried chicken in Hamptons mag. I love her recipes. I've never fried anything, so not sure if it's a good recipe, but she's pretty simple with her recipes.

Oh and these biscuits looked delish and easy.

Re: FRIIIIIIIIIED CHICKEN!
I would love to make Fried Chicken, but worry so much about the mess and smell in my house. Tell me how your house smells after? Do you use a deep fat fryer or just a pan??

Re: FRIIIIIIIIIED CHICKEN!
DH and I LOVE this recipe, i have made many fried chicken recipes and this is my family's favorite. I double the flour/cornstarch part for extra coating.

I just use a pan, some oil and a cover with some tongs to turn the chicken every 7 minutes. My house has a little fried chicken smell but DH likes it, it's not crazy though.

Re: FRIIIIIIIIIED CHICKEN!
I use a pan always. I use a frying screen to keep the splatter at a minimum. Yeah - there is a definite fried chicken smell - but i had a terrible hood/venting the last time I made it. That's why I do it in the summer... you just open the doors and windows and the smell is out in no time.

Re: FRIIIIIIIIIED CHICKEN!
The America's Test Kitchen website has one that you shallow fry and then bake the rest of the way. It comes out AWESOME!
