Re: Tick Spraying??

Is your grass short? Does it get alot of sunlight? Do you know what kind of ticks they are, what do they look like? What size are they? Do you live near brush/woods?

I ask all this b/c the answer to these questions may help guide you in how to treat this.

There is a product I bought and will be using. It's called Damminex. Safe around kids and pets and best thing is the whole lawn does not need to be treated. Basically if your grass is short and gets alot of sunlight, ticks should NOT really be able to live there (from all the research I have done). If you keep leaf litter off the ground and stay away from brush/woods and stay in short grass, and have sunlight, I have read that you really dont need to treat the whole yard for ticks. I also read there is no point in spraying b/c sprays can't reach where ticks breed and hide (in shady, moist, brushy areas).

This is the product. I have heard such great things about it and have it, but have to put it out.

we use LI Tree Service (the main office is Hicksville, but we're in southwestern Suffolk.

We've been using them for 2 years. Never had a tick. We also never get bitten by mosquitoes or gnats in our own yard. They're fantastic!
