I've heard early Spring and early Fall are the best. Before it gets too hot and before it gets to cold.
We had our whole backyard seeded less than 3 wks ago and we have full grass. We've had great growing conditions though b/c it hasn't been too hot and we've gotten a decent amount of rain.

You are on the cusp......I also have some areas that are a mess now after putting my fence in. I am hoping it's not too late, but I think it may be.....fingers crossed.

We need to do it desperately our neighbors are going to hate us. We ended up ripping up EVERYTHING in the front and back and it looks like a dirt bomb blew up in the front of our house and DD can't even go out ot the yard to play which I'm in need of desperately once the baby comes!!!! I hope the grass is fine!

My poor DD hasn't been "out" in our yard yet. It's been a mess. I feel so bad for her. Hoping the last few areas that I have that are messy can still grow.

I seeded an area on the side of my house 2 weeks ago and the grass is coming in so nicely now.

It is pretty late to get it to grow now. If it gets really hot and we don't have much rain in the few weeks after you seed, not much is going to grow.

After waiting for my brother (who is a landscaper by the way!) for 2 months, I finally got sick of looking at DIRT. I went to Home Depot, got a huge thing of Starter Grass and sprinkled it all over. I got a bunch of grass with some patches. Went back and got some bags or the more expensive kentucky blue grass for the patchy areas and now it's starting to come in and look pretty nice!
This is all within the last 3-4 weeks. Everyone was telling me not to waste my time and how it will NEVER grow (DH, my brother, my friends). Well, guess what...I did it myself, watered the **** out of it and it's growing nicely.
I'm sure there are better times than others but if you keep watering it, i'm sure you'll be just fine.
