Updated: Breast Pump

If your breat pump is covered wholy or partly by insurance, did you have to wait till the baby was born to order?

I think thats what my insurance told me, but I ordered anyway, cause i feel like at 38 weeks I am def having this baby, and would like to pump asap.

The med supply co told me they would call me if their were any issues so I was just wondering how it worked for you ladies.

Update:

I know my insurance said I had to wait till baby was born, but I will be getting my pump in 2 days from Edgepark, so try and put it through anyway if you were told you had to wait. Woo Hoo!!!

Re: Breast Pump

My insurance said I can get it whenever I want I just need a prescription from my doc. My doc said he usually waits till the baby is born to write the script.

Re: Breast Pump

I called my insurance company (GHI) to verify if one is covered for me.
They said they need the CPT code (5 digit code) for the pump.

I have to find this code for the useless insurance company. UGH.

Does anyone happen to know what this code is? I've googled and called my dr office (left message and waiting for them to call me back)

I have EBCBS too and ordered through Edgepark. They asked which one I wanted. It was covered 80% after my deductible. They called the Dr's office (I am assuming to confirm the PG) and I got it in the mail 2 weeks ago. I am only 21 weeks.

All insurances are different, best bet is to just call and ask.
