we looked on MLS and listingbook for a while, about a year. we went to see houses and open houses for about 3 months, saw maybe 30-35 before we went into contract.

We looked for over a year and a half. It was the height of the market and we were going to so many open houses that we literally had to do drive-bys the night before to see if they were worth coming back to.
Definitely over 150 houses and we knew immediately when we walked into this one that it was the one for us.

appx 2 years total. On and off for first year, just slowly looking. Then constant for second year....pretty much EVERY weekend!
ETA: we were very picky about area and location. Definitely saw 100+ houses.

on and off for well over a year. but when we decided to expand our search into neighboring towns, we found our house in about 2 months.
