Help with temping...
So I've finally decided to give in and try temping but I am clueless. What kind of thermometer do I buy and what am I looking for? Any advice would be appreciated since I have no idea what I am doing. TIA!

Re: Help with temping...
It's called a Basal Thermometer. You have to do it every morning before you get up, as in once your alram goes off dont move except to put it in your mouth or vag. You have to do it the same time EVERYDAY and you dont start til after AF is done but, dont wait 1st day after AF. I also feel it takes awhile to get used to, Im doing it for the 3rd CD, dont know why I am cause I have the CBEFM but, I just wanted to see if I was doing it right in the end.

Yep, I totally agree with this! Also remember, you should temp at the same time everyday (this includes weekends or any days you may have off) unfortunately it has to be done everyday..GL

The CBEFM wont tell You if you O. It just tracks the surge. Temping and blood tests are the only way to confirm O.

Just be careful because a surge doesn't mean O. There a plenty of girls on here that can tell you they get a surge but no O. Ovulation test can give false hope if there are other underlying issues (some know about them but others think they are Oing cause of the surge)

Only way to know is to temp.
ETA: When I start using the CBEFM I plan to temp as well just to confirm that I did indeed O.

Yup temp. I would temp for 3 months or so and if you consistently O then I'd say you are safe. My Dr had me temp for 3 months before I started IUIs to confirm I was Oing before we went through the IUIs or more testing.

Guess its a good thing I didnt stop but, I also messed up the 1st month so this is like ym 2nd month doing it.

Re: Help with temping...
i agree with what every has said. i have been temping for 7 cycles so far and it is very informative! i've had cycles where i didnt O at all and others where it was very predictable when i would O.
i chart my temps on FertilityFriend's website. you can chart more than just your temps on there.
