Just something I thought of...
Tomorrow I will be CD60 with no AF and BFN. I have my yearly with my Gyn tomorrow. If she tells me that she doesn't want to do any testing because I am still relatively young (31) then I think I am going to scream. True we have only been trying since February...but seriously, I have not even gotten my 3rd period yet. OBVIOUSLY something is not right here. Sorry...I know I am getting ahead of myself here and making myself upset before I even see her, but I never have good luck with doctors and they always make me feel like I am crazy. Heck it took 3 years before I could get anyone to take me seriously about my gallbladder and I finally had it removed and it was so diseased it had attached itself to other organs...(sorry - tangent....very tired and aggravated today *sigh*)

I agree. I would continue to look for another doctor that will look into things

I would definitely tell her you want some test run. If you get pushback, time to find a new dr, IMO. Good luck!!!

Re: Just something I thought of...
I just went through this with really long cycles. It is so frustrating!! I went to the doctor bc I was on CD 52 w/o AF and BFN and I was also having some pain on my left side. The doc did a sono and found cysts. He ran blood work which came back normal so he said the cysts will go away. Well 4 months later my cycles were still SO irregular so I did OPKs this month and never got a smiley. Went back to doc and he did a blood test which showed I didn't O.
Def. tell your doc whats going on and ask for blood work. I always felt weird asking questions and just assumed the docs would tell me what I needed to know. But now I realize you have to take charge of your own health.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!! FM if you need to talk...seems like we are going through the same thing

If they don't want to be proactive and you do then you may want to look for another doctor! My dr. immediately suggested Clomid when I mentioned the frustration of long cycles. I haven't taken him up on it just yet but I'm sure you can find a dr. who will be more helpful if yours doesn't turn out to be. Good luck!

It IS frustrating. This is only my 3rd cycle in 5 months of trying and The first two cycles I used OPKs and got smileys (although I know that doesn't mean that I DID ovulate, just that at least my body was preparing to) I went to the doctor because my last cycle was 49 days and the doctor said that I was young and to just have fun and lay off the opk's because it was too soon in TTC to be that stressed. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH...AND of course this cycle I seem to have an issue. Well tomorrow I am seriously requesting some blood work to test things more thorough.

Re: Just something I thought of...
Just bc your young that doesn't anything! I am young also. Age has nothing to do with it! Even if it is nothing and just long cycles, they should at least just check to make sure everything is okay!
What day of your cycle to you get the when you get it?

Re: Just something I thought of...
Personally, if I were you.. I wouldn't even be going to an OB about this. Nor would I expect an OB to be into all the testing. Sometimes they do test some things for you but I don't find OB's to be nearly as thorough as an RE would be.
I'd skip the OB route entirely and start looking into RE's for testing. Even if an OB tests for things... RE's are SO MUCH more detailed with their testing and searching for possible issues.
Going to an RE doesn't mean you have to leave your OB entirely. You would still need an OB for delivery when you get pregnant. But you could see an RE for testing and all that goes with that along with the beginning weeks of pregnancy.
I understand if you have a rapport with your OB and want to stay there. But I wouldn't expect too much from them as far as testing goes.
I hope you find out what's causing the long cycles so you can be on your way. Good Luck!!!

You need to have tests run. Don't leave the office until they do them.

The first cycle I got it on CD24, on the second cycle I got it on CD35...and of course this one I wasn't using the OPK's
