Here is the only place I can say this . . .

I'm afraid. We've been TTCing (w/o "trying"- only tracking my period & guessing when I ovulate) since December, with no success. I recently decided to start using an Ovulation predictor kit (Answer brand).

But I feel like I'm starting to get upset. I've only been doing the OPK since Friday (today is CD #12). But this weekend was rough- i felt like everyone was pregnant, going to a baby shower, talking about TTCing (w/ success), etc.

I have such a fear of having issues. I have people tell me, "Why are you worried?" I'm worried b/c I'm 36 1/2 yrs old. We do have 1 child now who is 4, and when he was concieved, it was done the 1st month after going off BCP.

I can't even talk to DH about it b/c he has told me "Don't freak out if it doesn't happen right away." And I feel like he doesn't even want to be involved with the trying (as far as doing it the right time of the month), but more with the act of trying ( ).

All I can say is ....it doesnt happen right away. It took me 2 years and I had the same thoughts about age....I am 38 and PG with my first. I would actively track everythng for a few months (temp, opk etc) and then see your dr. Mine had me do that stuff after I went to see him so you might as well get as much info together before you see your dr.

Everyone's body is different..some it happens right away and the others it doesn't. But I think most will take a while before they are pregnant! I feel the same way you do..either everyone i know is having a baby, is pregnant or just gave birth! I keep holding on to faith and keeping my spirits up high!!

Hope you dont mind me saying, and I should prob take my own advice , BUT I think you are getting a little ahead of yourself. Just b/c it's taking longer w/ 2nd then 1st, doesn't mean there is something wrong. It may mean that you were lucky to PG so fast w/ your 1st.

I am 35+ and I thought we would conceive very quickly w/ #2 since I knew the TTC ropes - the tracking, the right OPKs, the signs, etc. It's taking longer than expected...

Hang in there, and try to be patient!

okay i'm hijacking, but i say go with your gut.

With my 1st... 2nd cycle we got our bfp.

With my 2nd... it took 6 months, 3 cycles. But i pushed for a fertility panel at the 3 month mark for a few reasons (long cycles- was by the book regular before, mid cycle bleeding, tons of spotting, etc). I 'knew' something was wrong. Turns out i was right. I have high fsh (i'm only 30). So that means it was going to take longer this time around. I've been seeing an RE ever since. Went on clomid and shockingly got my bfp last month.

Yes 6 months is nothing, but i'm glad i pushed for the blood work. Now i know that we won't be waiting long at all for #3 because time is not on my side.

Every person is different. Every case is different. I'm not trying to freak you out, but if you're gut is telling you something... go with it. I never would have thought i'd have an issue (never in a million years), but i also got pregnant with #1 4 years ago. A lot can change in 4 years with your body.

Good luck! I hope nothing is wrong and you're 100% okay. But i wanted to tell you my story so that if you feel something is wrong... that you don't waste more time.

I can tell you from my own DH, they are different breeds, lol...... I bought OPK the digital kind for the first time this month.... And he says the same thing..... "You are stresing about it too much,,, etc blah blah"
They have no concept of the feelings we have when we get that BFN!!!!!!

And remember dome DH's blow it off, because it's their way to cope.

it's rough and i feel the age issue too but hang in there!!!!
