left side/pelvic pain

Hey girls, I'm 36 1/2 weeks and I've had this pelvic pain on my side. Can you pull a pelvic muscle? Baby is head down since 31 weeks. Today the pain is annoying.. could it still be round ligament pain, or could I have pulled something?

Anyone else getting this pain?

Thanks!

Re: left side/pelvic pain

I heard that round ligament pain should be gone by now. I had a severe case of RLP around the 20 weeks mark.

It's probably more like pressure from the baby.

Feel Better!!!

Re: left side/pelvic pain

PS - depending on the pelvic pain you mention... it could be a muscle thing but I think it's probably the weight of the baby's head. The head is the heaviest part of the baby and when they go head down you are getting more weight in that general area.

My baby was in position for a few weeks. And during that time the pelvic pain was EXCRUCIATING!! I couldn't move at times.

At 37.5 weeks she turned breech and put her head up to my ribs again... and the pressure i had there along with the pain subsided quite a bit. I can't say it's no longer there because it sure is... but it's not as bad as it was when she was in position. Also my bladder was in bad shape when she was in position... now that she's asss first ... my bladder also feels the relief.

Re: left side/pelvic pain

I have been having a reoccurance of Round Ligament Pain for a few weeks now (I am 37 weeks) .. just as painful as in the beginning of pregnancy. It's sharp, like pulling a muscle or getting a stitch in your side. I think the baby is just hanging so low that every movement pulls on my uterus. I never had this with DS who was always up high in my ribs.
