Pain in the hip/pelvic area? Please help!!!
I don't know what else to do. I've had this really painful "pulling" sensation on my right hip for a couple of days. It's gotten pretty bad since yesterday. I had a hard time just walking or getting off a chair today. I don't know how else to describe it other than it feels like my leg/hip is detaching from my upper body when I move. Oh, and my last 3 toes are numb too.
I've tried everything from hot compresses/cold compresses, hot showers, resting it. Nothing seems to help. I went for a walk the other day & after 20 minutes, I couldn't move. Do you think it's pregnancy related (only 13.5 wks) or something totally different. My sister thinks it's sciatica. And while I despise going to the doctor, I am calling for an appt tomorrow because I can't move. Please help me if you have any ideas. Thanks!!!

My guess is sciatica but I would definately ask for a physical therapy recommendation, after talking w/your OB. Good luck, feel better.

I also am guessing it is sciatica. I am dealing with the same thing this past week but am 30 weeks. Since your on the early side I would defin talk to the doctor and start PT if you can before your belly gets big. It is an awful pain. Feel better. I have been using tiger balm white in the green package the reg strength one. It helps.

Thanks. I've been doing some research on these boards and am finding similar issues to the one I had. I'm going to look into a post I just found about Posterior Pelvic Pain. And thanks for telling me about tiger balm. I've never heard of that before. This site is awesome!

It's in the back. Kind of like where the thigh meets the hip. It literally feels like my right hip is detaching from my leg. Then I woke up with 2 of my toes on my right foot numb & tingly. Any ideas?

i would say Sciatica, because that would explain the numb toes, but your sciatic nerve is in the back. It Could be this posterior pelvic pain though. I would call your OB in the am and make sure. you didn't fall or trip or anything right? SOunds more like sciatica though if it's in the back

Re: Pain in the hip/pelvic area? Please help!!!
I dont think its sciatica. I have the same thing in my left hip and its funny because i described it the same way, as if my hip is going to detach. It is excrutiating when i lay down with the bad left side up if i move my leg and hard to turn over or get up. Now that you mention it i remember my pinky toe being numb for a while after i found out i was preggo. I was looking into that posterior pelvic pain too and thats what it sounds like it is. I feel your pain!! It really sucks. I had this with my first DD too. It never really went away just got worse and turned into sciatica on the right side as well esp. when i got bigger in the end. Good luck!!

I don't know what it is, but are you sleeping with a body pillow yet? If not, you should give one a try. Even if you don't have one, put a regular pillow between your legs when you sleep. It will elevate your legs and keep your thigh and hip joints level.
