Is it supposed to be caulked around a toilet? Esp if you just had your bathroom redone
Had a new toilet installed when I moved in. It wasn't caulked around it.
Not sure if that was supposed to be done, or that is something just my dad does.
Does anyone know and if you recently had your bathroom redone, can you look and see what was done?

We installed new toilets in our home and yes, they are all caulked. You should caulk, it seals the toilet so that no water can get under the toilet and sit stagnant and reek. It also helps to stabilize the toilet on the floor. It's a quick finishing touch, I would caulk for sure.

you acutally do not want it caulked all the way around. I would caulk the front but leave the back open so if there is a leak you will know. If its caulked all the way around you won't know if there is a leak.
