Need advice! I swore I wouldn't
test until AF was due but at 12dpo BFN! I tried to stay really relaxed this month even stayed away from these boards a bit just not to stress about it. But we are now onto month 6 and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't getting a little worried! I spoke to my OBGYN last month when I went in for my annual checkup and she brushed me off as being in my late 20s and to just go on "having fun" and it'll happen. I was hoping she'd run a test or do a sono or something to give me piece of mind but she's never done anything since I told her we were TTC other than tell me "great, enjoy!" Is there anything that I can request or have done to put my mind a bit more at ease? Thank you in advance ladies!

When I told my gyno I was TTC he told me not to come back until 1 year with no luck. That is the average time it takes...
Plus they say to always test DH's sperm first. Less invasive and can be the answer more than half the time

Im not really sure, but don't most docs define IF of one year of trying without success? Hopefully you'll get pregnant soon and wont have to think about that!
Or you can find a doc who is willing to do testing earlier.

I've been using the CBE OPKs and have gotten a smiley face each month so far. I thought temping might be stressful but I think I might give it a shot next month. Thanks for the responses girls! I kind of panicked with another BFN bc it's just not what you want to see but I'll try to move positively forward into month 6 and hope it happens soon!! to all!

Re: Need advice! I swore I wouldn't
While you shouldnt get brushed off, it is typical for an OBGYN to ask you to come back after a year of trying. Even if in our minds, everything aligns ( + = ), doesnt necessarily mean conception. Still not sure why, but at least you can rest assured youre not alone.

Re: Need advice! I swore I wouldn't
I also am in my late 20's and have been trying for 7 cycles. This is my 8th. I also got worried (& still am) I made an appointmnt w/ gyno and she basically did the same thing yours did. "Have Fun. it could take a year. Enjoy, on average 8-9 months" She told me after 11 cycles I could get blood test, DH SA and a HSG test(i think that was the name). I think after she saw tears in my eyes, she said"well if you want you can go for blood test and your DH SA. I would say hold off on the other test b.c it can be uncomfortable" She also gave me an internal sono at her office since i have not had one in ages. She reviewed and said" Your fine, have fun, next time i see you be pregnant" Dh & I decided to continue trying 4 at least 1 more cycle before we go for blood test and SA. But it made me feel a lil better after i talked to her. Just wanted to share w/ you, b.c we are basically on the same boat. Wishing you lots of

Re: Need advice! I swore I wouldn't
Our entire lives we do everything to prevent pregnancy and when we want to conceive we learn how difficult it really is. It's very frustrating. If I remember correctly, but it's only a 20% chance of getting PG when you're fertile. Yes, it totally suc*ks!

Thank you so much for sharing!!! It does feel better to hear I'm not the only one getting the "have fun" line from the doctor & panicking because of it. Ugh! I hope we can celebrate our BFPs very very soon!! Lots of to you too
