Inground sprinkler timing
In heat like this, how often and for how long do you have your inground sprinklers running?

Re: Inground sprinkler timing
at this time of year, our sprinkers run every other day (starting at 2:30am) each zone for 15 mins. in july and August and into September, they run everyday.

Re: Inground sprinkler timing
Thanks for the reply!
That's exactly what mine are set for too, but the lawn is looking a little brown already after these past few hot days. Will setting the sprinklers for 30 minutes help? Or every day? Or is there no fighting this heat?

I really don't think you are watering enough, 15 mins in this heat is not enough.

That's what I was wondering - my water is REALLY expensive (bills over $200 in the summer!) and I don't want to pay to waste it if my lawn will look the same either way.

Re: Inground sprinkler timing
Our lawns are set for 25 min and our flower beds are set for 15 min on odd days (because we're in the town of hempstead and they have an odd/even rule) If it's super hot like the past few days I'll water the garden and flowers again at night.

Re: Inground sprinkler timing
My cycle is set to every other day.
The whole cycle is 2.5hours....I have 5 zones...
On really hot/dry days I will put in a manual cycle as well...
