We have a ranch...I've heard mixed things on if its worth it or not. Any input? I have no idea about it at all...how much does it cost? Is it more energy efficient than air conditioning? Can you reccomend a company?

Re: cac...
I have a ranch with CAC. The 2nd year we were here our old cac broke and we had to replace the unit. I can say that summer was rough....we had ac units in our bedrooms but I wasnt about to put units in all the rooms in the house.
And I can say year to year our electric bill is aobut the same so I vow never to live without CAC again!
ETA I would say cost would be around 9k for the duct work and unit. Could be more depending on how big your house is and what type of unit you install. I can say for sure as we only replaced the unit, our ductwork was all here when we bought hte house.

We just signed a contract for CAC. We live in a small ranch. I am counting the days. We do not have an open lay-out and its like a sweat box. We used Stan Gelber and Sons - very reasonable even with top of the line units and filters.
