Large Inflatable pools with filters...anyone have-feedback?
We are thinking about getting one of those large inflatable pools. Anyone have any knowledge about them?
Easy to clean Does the water get gross Do they hold us in storms Does it ruin the grass

Re: Large Inflatable pools with filters...anyone have-feedback?
I had one at one time and it was a huge waste of money. This was about 7 years ago so they may be made better now but everyone I knew at the time that had one hated it.
The pump was definitely not strong enough to filter the water. It stayed green. No amount of chemicals could keep it clear.
My dad eventually bought a much smaller pool than the one I had and used my larger pump on his. Only then did it work.

Ok,,,,good to know! I was afraid of that and ruining the grass. I think we will stick to a pool membership!

Re: Large Inflatable pools with filters...anyone have-feedback?
We got a 10'ft wide, 3ft deep pool last Summer and we definitely got our money's worth out of it. There was room to float on floaties and my DD hopped around in there all day long. It was great for me at 9 months pregnant!
DH had to treat it everyday. At the end of the season, we weren't using it as much (no doubt because we had a newborn!) and DH got lazy about treating it. It turned green and no amount of shocking it could bring it back. The filter was sufficient but be sure to change it to get the max efficiency from it. We bought a six pack of filters off Amazon and I think we went through four.
It did ruin the grass. We still have the circle where it was but I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to rake up and plant new grass. We haven't done it yet because we are contemplating getting another pool. We had to toss the old one after my DD threw our dog's toy into it when it was half-drained and she jumped in after it and scratched a hole in the bottom.
My mom used the pool everyday when she came to visit. She's going to put one up at her house this year, she loved it so much.

I don't have much to add, except I recall some concerns about the how easily the sides can bend down and that people were getting hurt by the force created by the large amount of water spilling out over the side.

We have an intex 18ft round ultra frame.
It's a step up from the blow up types. This is our 3rd year with it. It took us 2 hours to get it up and put together. We love it. I think we went a step up on the pump, too. As long as you change the filter often and keep the chlorine fresh, it's very easy to maintain. We've had plenty of people in it at the same time, too. It's a great size!
eta: it kills the grass you put it on--it looks like a crop circle in the fall and winter, but we have a big yard and put the pool off to the side.
