Those who have inflatable pools

Do you keep them inflated all summer long? If so, is it on the grass? I know I've complained before b/c DH won't let me keep anything on the grass b/c it kills the grass underneath.

I would hate to keep deflating it and then inflating it all summer though Chat Icon

Re: Those who have inflatable pools

we had one last year and left it inflated for about 2 months (july/aug) and yes it did kill the grass underneath.

If we ever get one again we will be putting it on our cement patio- it will also keep it from getting disgusting from fallen leaves and such

we had a teeny one last year (not sure if you remember it) and it was inflated the entire summer. Are you getting a bigger one?

We have ours on an area where the grass does not grow so well - DH is the same as yours - he wont allow it on the main grass area as it does leave a mark. We leave ours inflated all the time but drain the water each night.

Yes, I remember yours. And yup, we want to get a new, bigger one. We used the hard turtle pool last year for C (the one that can be a sandbox or a pool). It's too small for her to use as a pool, we're going to make it a sandbox for her.

I have no clue what kind of pool to get her though Chat Icon

I saw a cute one at Walmart outside the store. It's a hard plastic one with a built in slide. I remember having one of those when I was little and loved it! I'm still undecided on what we're getting, but I might get that one. It's "easy" since you don't need to blow it up, and you can just flip it over or stand it up so it doesn't ruin the grass, and not worry about it blowing away.

Re: Those who have inflatable pools

We had a big inflatable one 2 summers ago and I put it on the grass. I hated it!!!!!! Not only did it kill the grass, but it was impossible to empty the water to put fresh water in. It was too big to lift myself and the drain was not low enough to empty the pool fully. Also being on the grass, every time our landscapers cut the grass the pool got filled with grass clippings. ughh! Instead I bought one of the hard pools and put it on our deck. So much better!
