side effects of going off BCP
I had googled this because I was curious as to how my hormones were handling going off BCP. For the past week I've been tired and taking naps (I never take naps...I usually go through the entire day/have alot of energy). I also have been alot more emotional. I cry over stupid things (I have depression, I'm on medication for it though). After googling I realized it probaly is a side effect of going off BCP about a month ago.
Please tell me this stops!! I hate being tired and I don't want to have to up the dosage of my anti depressents!!

You are not alone... When I went off it years ago for 1 month I cried everyday. It was almost like I needed it. I told my doctor and she recommended increasing depression medication if it did not get better. This time luckily it did not happen.

The only side effect I've really noticed is that my libido is in overdrive. That stuff really surpressed it!

Honestly, I didnt have any side effects. The only thing I noticed was I was breaking out but that eventually stopped after a few months. I have heard of the side effects you listed and I would think they will eventually go away once you body adjust to being off BCP.

Yep I actually remember posting about it. Totally hormonal crying all the time, bad skin and weight gain.

I was hoping that this would be a side effect of me coming of BCP...but alas...no dice. Still low *sigh*
To the OP...however, I do find myself more tired and emotional after coming off...the joys of TTC.

I went off BCPs in October and really had no side effects. If you're taking clomid now (I think I saw on another post) that quite possibly could have something to do with it. Clomid has a high incidence of moodiness, increased depression and anxiety. If it were me, I'd give my body a few months to regulate itself before taking any new meds. Just for piece of mind.

I didn't have any side effects, it just took forever for my cycle to regulate once again.
