Poconos

Has anyone rented a house in the Poconos with young children during the summer before? Before kids, we liked to rent a house up in Cape Cod for a week and we really enjoyed it. We don't feel like traveling that far with the kids (ages 5.5 and 3) and we thought the Poconos would be a nice alternative. Does anyone have any recommendations or advice?

We've seen some folks that rent a cottage with children in Lake Harmony (Split Rock Resort). DH and I have a timeshare in Willowbrook that is nice and we love going there every year.

We rented a 3 bedroom house with some friends in Poconos region last weekend. It was fabulous! This house was on the lake with its own boats/kayaks. Apart from that, you could pay extra to go to the community areas-where they had three pool areas, picnic tables, kids playground, tennis courts etc. It was in the Arrowhead Lake community in Pocono Lake, PA. Let me know if you need more details-I will check with my friend who made the reservations.
