Since it's going to be the worst mosquito season ever...
What is your tried and true repellent?
I have tried OFF! Does not work!
We were putting together new BBQ Friday night and in one hour I had welts everywhere.
I want to enjoy my backyard for God sakes!!!

Bounce dryer sheets. Put one in your pocket. Also we hang them under the table, amd my uncle staples them uner the deck rails. Fans are good too. The today show had a what to use during the season last season, and both above were on the list.

Dryer sheets don't work. We had a big mosquito problem in our old apt by the water. I put them on my pillow, my head, my whole bed and still got eaten alive . Fans sound like maybe they could work by blowing the little buggers around.

Outside - there is a child/pet-friendly spray that you hook up to your outside hose and spray the plants, etc. My friend recommended it to me, and it worked great - it was from Cutter and I got it at Home Depot.

It's kind of late to start it but will help a bit this year and for all of the following years:
Blue Rhino SV3100 SkeeterVac Mosquito Eliminator, 1-Acre Coverage
It's expensive but TOTALLY worth it!! Should go on when the high consistently hits 50degrees (it works by killing off the population).

Mosquitos LOVE me. I already have about 7 bites on my arms. The only thing that has ever really worked for me is Avon Skin so soft.. and it smells good too! I will put it on after the shower in the morning and again in the evening if I am going to be outside.

A mosquito tent over the deck is going to be our go to this year. And OFF. We'll try almost anything - except we won't use anything with Permethrin since it is terrible for the environment, a neurotoxin that kills animals and is linked to Cancer and Parkinson's.

What has Permethrin in it? And where did you read all this info? I am very curious.

You have to be VERY careful with it. Alot of "organic bug sprays" have it in it too! Its made from chrysanthemums and its supposed to be a natural product but its been linked to alot of different diseases- including new studies linking it to hormone disruption
