Connetquot School District
Does anyone have any insight on this district? Good? Bad? Just OK?

From what I know, its really good! Its big, and takes in Oakdale, Bohemia, & parts of Ronkonkoma...I know a lot of people who went there and made sure to buy homes in the district so their kids could go there as well.

I work in Connetquot School District and would be happy to answer any questions. It is a big district encompassing Oakdale, Bohemia, Ronkonkoma and even parts of sayville. There are 7 elementary schools, 2 middle schools and the high school. I will tell you that during all of these budget cuts our district is one of the very few that have not lost any teachers or programs. I work for th emusic department and can honestly say that the programs available to kids are vast and far greater than many other districts. Please feel free to FM with any questions!

I graduated from Connetquot. No complaints. I would have bought within the district but I work further east on the north shore so I moved.

DS is in 2nd grade now, and DD is entering K in the fall. Many of our friends are in the district as well (Scouts, sports, neighbors, etc). We are more than happy with the district, as are all of our friends.

I graduated from Connetquot and I thought it was good. I would send my kids there for sure. My nieces go there as well and my SIL is happy.

I lived in Connetquot for almost 10 years. My son graduated in 2005. He was a special Ed student and the services were excellent. Overall we had a very good experience and we enjoyed living in Oakdale.
That area has had a big problem with drug use, not just with high school kids it was really swept under the rug until recentlybut I believe heightened awareness has helped quite a bit. Honestly I think the margority of LI districts have had a big problem, it's more a matter of how it's being handled now.
