If you went past your due date w/poll

My due date was only yesterday, but im getting discouraged that Im never going to go into labor...I REALLY want to go into labor on my own...please share your experience.

With my first, I was 2 full weeks late when I was induced. My induction failed, I ended up having a c-section. I have a scheduled c-section this time.

I was induced at 40w 3d. . .my ob wanted me to wait til after 41 weeks I had to beg her to induce me before that. when I went in to be induced I was 2cm and 80% effaced. they started me on cervadil I progessed quickly pushed for 3 hours and wound up with a c/s. . .which was a blessing in disguise bc DS was 9lb 9oz

i was 2 days late, went into labor naturally, but needed pitocin. pushed for 3.5 hours, but no C-section. DD was 9 lbs. 2 oz.

I was 40w4d when I went into labor on my own. I was given pitocin while in labor because I wasn't dilating as quickly as the dr. would have liked and I was GBS+ so they wanted to limit chances of infecting the baby. My first contraction was at 5am and I gave birth at 11:06 that night, after only an hour of pushing. I had a really great birth experience!

I was induced due to complications at 40w4d. Had DS at 40w6d.

Great question. I have been thinking of this since my appt yesterday. I will be 40 weeks on Sat.

Induced 3 days past due date...had a CSection becuase DDs heart rate was erratic from the drugs used, I developed a fever and she had passed mercomium (sp?) in the womb

My DS I was 3 days late, went into labor naturally and delivered vaginally.

My DD I was 5 days late, went into labor naturally and delivered vaginally.

I know people that went 10+ days and still went into labor on their own and delivered vaginally.

My water broke at 40w5d and I delivered about 12 hours later at 40w6d, vaginally

Induced 11 days past my due date - ended in csection but that's because he was 10lbs.

I delivered DD exactly 1 week late(the day I was scheduled to be induced), I went into labor on my own the night before(v-birth).

Induced at 41 weeks (fluid was low), 27 1/2 hours of labor, had to have a c-section due to failure to progress - dilated to 7 and stayed there for hours. Baby was 8lbs 12oz

My doc only alowed me to go 1 week past my due date when he induced me, but then it tunred into a cs because DS wouldn't drop and I wouldn't dilate past 4cm.

I was induced when I was 10 days late. I had an emergency c b/c DS wrapped the cord around his neck 3 times during the induction and the doctors feared I wouldn't be able to deliver vaginally.

The cord was actually so tight DS was born with bruises on the back of his neck.

DS was 11 days late.

I was to be induced on a Monday at 41w3d, but my water broke on a Friday morning and I had her just after midnight at exactly 41w!

I was 8 days late with no sign of going into labor on my own in sight. Not even a fingertip dilated. So, off to the hospital I went for induction.

I went into the hospital at 6pm and started the cervadil that night. Slept overnight, had it taken out in the morning and then started pitocin. I was having contractions, but they kept checking me and I was making no progress. By 9pm the now 3rd doctor (as the shifts kept changing) came in and sat us down. Baby was not coming that night. 3 choices. 1.Go home and wait another day or two. 2. another round of induction and if no progress by the following day then a c-section or 3. c-section that night. I didn't want surgery unless it was necessary. And I was not leaving the hospital unless DS was on the OUTSIDE of my body. So, I did another round of induction.

They took me off everything (monitors, pitocin, etc) and let me eat. Got the cervadil put in at 9:30pm. Slept. Woke up at 9am and still no progress. Doctor said to wait until 11 and see what happens. She came back in 9:10am and said that there were no other patients on the unit and they were going to try to break my water. Because I wasn't dilated AT ALL, it was VERY hard for them to break my water (and painful). But, once they did it, I had my first yowza contraction. I labored and made great progress on my own and took the epidural at almost 8cm. Fell asleep for 2 hours and when I woke up, they checked me and DS was right there!!! Over 10cm! I pushed for 45 minutes and out he came!

Even though I had 2 inductions, I had a really great experience. Aside from going into labor on my own, I wouldn't have changed a thing.

Induced at 40w4d (my practice only let you go a week late and a week past my due date was Christmas so I was induced earlier to be able to be home on Christmas).
