bcp questions
dh and i dont plan on ttc until next year but i am on the pill now and have some questions. i know they say you are supposed to let your body adjust for a few months once you stop taking the pill, but is it bad if you get pregnant right away? do the horomones affect the baby?
and how long before we want to start trying should i get off the pill?
and when should i start taking prenatals?

I know alot of people that have gotten pregnant right away without the 3 month wait and their babies have been fine.

Same here but I only waited 1 cycle and had a mc at 6 weeks. My doctor had told me to wait 3 cycles. I really believe my hormones were off.

I had a long talk with my dr about this. The only reason to wait after you come off the pill is so YOU get to know YOUR cylce! The hormones come out of your body quickly and there is no danger to the baby if you get pregnant right away. Actually, you are most fertile right after coming off the pill. I have 18 more days of BCP and then we are hoping for some beginner's luck in the "very fertile" time!

Nothing wrong with coming off the pill and TTC right away. It's suggested to wait so that you can get to know your cycle and when you ovulate. Good luck!

true... plus, there are women who get pregnant by missing a pill etc - and there's not necessarily anything wrong with their children. the hormones in the pill won't effect your babies health - it's more about regulating your cycle etc
eta - once you are off the pill, you should start taking prenatals. just switch from one pill to the other. it's a vitamin so even if you aren't actively trying right away, it won't do any harm

Yep. ITA. No harm in TTC straight after coming off BCP. Its just best to wait a few months so your cycles can regulate, thats all.
