~~~QOTD 5/30 Memorial Day ~~~Sorry

Being that it is Memorial Day.... What would your reaction be if your FC told you that they wanted to join the army, navy or air force?

I hope I did not offend anyone, that was not my intention. Being the day that it is and thinking what would I do if my son, who is 16, would be in any of these scares me. I have lots of members of my family that have fought in war and has been in the army, navy. Not saying I wont support what my son and future child will do, just scares the S*#t out of me. Trust me the people that know me, knows what I am up against with my DS and knows that I am proud and supportive in what he does.

For me as much as I am thankful for those who fight for our country I wouldnt like it. My DS is not joining thank God but, if my next child told me I'd be freaking out. I just cant imagine sitting there everyday wondering if they are going to be ok. I stress out enough in everyday life, could you imagine how I'd be is my FC was in either of them?
I give credit to those who are married to DH's that do this everyday.

Of course I would worry about them but mostly I would be proud

We were just talking about this on Sat while we were at Fleet Week touring DH's old ship. If lo decides not to go to college then we will guide them toward the military. DH, my dad, his dad and sister, almost every uncle and even my aunt served and were glad they did. I will suggest the airforce though because its the one branch that is most unlikely to go to war.
