Is it okay to NOT wear a dress to my shower?
I mean, I know it is, but I just feel like I should wear a dress... but I HATE how I look in dresses! I WISH I looked cute in dresses, but I hate my legs... and sitting in front of everyone opening presents in a dress with pictures being taken just will spell disaster for me.
I want to look cute and special, but I feel like I'll look like everyone else in just a pants and a top.
It's a late June shower at a restaurant... right now I'm thinking I'm going to wear white capris or white dress pants with an Empire wasteline top. I just don't feel like I'll look like the guest of honor.
And I've tried on long dresses, but I hate that since I need a larger size, there's SO much material that flows down... it ends up looking like a moo moo.

If you are more comfortable in pants, wear pants. I wore pants to mine (although mine was a surprise), but I am always in pants, so it was me. I was very comfortable. Don't worry about not "looking like the guest of honor"- I promise you, no one will be mistaking who the shower is for! Just be comfy and enjoy it!

I'm wearing a nice white tank top and khaki shorts or denim shorts. We are having the shower at my house, so we are hoping to have it in the backyard and the weather holds up. It will be hot out there!

there will be no mistaking you as the guest of honor! i mean if you're really concerned, get a shirt that says "baby momma" or something. in all seriousness i think it's fine not to wear a dress and i probably won't wear one when it comes time for mine, either.

I planned on wearing a dress but I decided on pants at the last minute. I am happy that I wore pants. I was definitely more comfortable.

Re: Is it okay to NOT wear a dress to my shower?
hating my legs too right now so I know how you feel.....tghey are just so swollen and pale too!! So I'm going to do a pair of leggings with the dress I got since it's above the knee I thought it'd look cute and I'm all about leggings to begin with. It'll solve the opening gifts situation too. Whatever you wear just be comfy

It's your shower.. wear what you want and what makes you feel comfortable.
I don't like my legs either, so I wore a maxi dress to mine since it was long and looked pretty, but pants & a nice shirt can work too! It's whatever your preference is!

Re: Is it okay to NOT wear a dress to my shower?
I would go with whatever you are comfortable in.
I remember wearing a dress for my bridal shower and that was kinf od annoying while opening presents....moving around so much to open boxes and trying to keep my legs/ankles crossed the entire time. I cant even imagine how much more uncomfortable that would be pregnant. When the time comes for mine I will proib go with pants or capris. But then again mine will be a surprise so i guess i really dont have a choice in what i wear.
